Jersey Runners-Up in first Islands International event
The representative teams of Jersey Darts have returned home from the very first Islands International event as Runners-Up.
Following a weekend of darts at the St Pierre Park in Guernsey, the Men's & Ladies teams combined to finish runners-up to the event favourites the Republic of Ireland. After a 11-2 to defeat to the eventual winners, Jersey Men responded by defeating Guernsey 8-5 and followed it by beating the Isle of Man 9-4.
The Jersey ladies playing their games before the Men's team were defeated 7-0 by Ireland before retuning to beat Guernsey 4-3. In their final game they were defeated by the Isle of Man 5-2.
The teams were then asked to play first past the post play-offs and although the reason why remains unclear, the ladies were again defeated 4-0 in a 3rd/4th place play off against the Isle of Man. The Men were again beaten by ROI this time losing 7-1.
Overall the combined performances were enough to secure the runners-up spot and the team collected silver medals.
