Inter-Insular
For the second year running the Ladies & Men's B teams secured victories in the Channel Island Inter-Insular, however it is now six straight defeats for the Jersey Men's A team after losing 5-4 in a match that went to the wire.
Jersey got off to a flyer with Tina Carver, Liz Drew & Angie Le Bailly giving Jersey a 3-0 lead, dropping just two legs in the process. However Guernsey hit back with Caroline Le Touche beating Jenny Couillard 3-0, in a lady of the match performance.
After the interval Guernsey added another score to the board, with Guernsey's Jo Ellis beating Karen Taylor but with the match poised at 3-2 to Jersey any hopes Guernsey had of levelling and even going on to win the match were soon extinguished when first Jackie McCabe & then Jenna Avril won for Jersey to put them into an unassailable lead of 5-2. Jackie McCabe hitting a 180 in her game.
Guernsey did take the last two matches, Yvonne Le Gallic & Sharon Le Page defeating Ema Hawley & Donna Le Clercq respectively.
The final score line was close but Jersey Ladies will feel this was a comfortable win.

The Jersey Men "B" secured a comfortable 6-3 in the end although they did not get it all their own way.
Jersey took the first two matches with victories for Mark James & Phil Speak but the lead was reduced to just one when Guernsey’s Simon Gill defeated Aaron Forrest. It was a first defeat for Forrest at Inter-Insular “B” level. Jersey’s two game advantage was restored before the break, when Ray Kennedy defeated Richard Moullin in a Man of the Match performance.
Guernsey hit straight back after the break with Martin Young & Steve Allez beating new caps Nigel Greenwood & Dave Snell. However that was to be as good as got for the Sarnians who won just one more leg, first Dave McLucas and Rene Turmel sealed the victory against Aaron Billian & John De La Mare and Edward Le Bailly followed up to make the score a little more emphatic.
